The Tambasasayama ABC Marathon (former name: Sasayama ABC Marathon) is a full marathon officially recognized by the
Japan Association of Athletics Federations, which starts and finishes at the Sasayama Castle Ruins.
It’s held every year in early March, many runners from all over the country run through the beautiful country road, Tambaji, in early spring.

There will be traffic restrictions on the day.
On Sunday, March 1, 2026, there will be significant traffic restrictions due to the Tambasasayama ABC Marathon.
Please pay attention to traffic information.
In addition, restrictions will be placed on not only private cars but also buses, so please check before coming.
*From 2:00pm, a shuttle bus will depart from the Museum of History to Sasayamaguchi Station (no one can get off along the way).
Local delicacy aid station
The famous ‘Shishi-jiru’ (boar soup) will be served on the course and at the finish line. In addition, local Tamba Sasayama sweets will be provided on the course.
