Eitakuji Temple Iris Garden & Soba Dojo Eitakuji Temple is located at an altitude of 560m. Due to the large
difference in temperature between cold and hot, the flowers bloom in brilliant colours.
From the end of March to the mid-April, pretty white water skunk cabbages bloom along the mountainside, and from the end of April to the mid-May, peonies, the king of flowers, bloom and brighten up the temple.
Japanese irises begin to bloom in early June. Three million blossoms spread over an area of about 19800㎡ in front of the gates of Etakuji, a historic old temple surrounded by mountains. At the “Soba Dojo” inside the temple, visitors can enjoy the experience of making soba noodles by hand. Also, ‘Mizunazuki Tei‘ serves fresh homemade soba noodles made with homemade flour.
