Founded in 1855, Seimeido is the oldest Japanese sweets shop in Tambasasayama .
It has a tasteful appearance that blends in with the townscape that retains the atmosphere of the castle town of Tambasasayama .
Being close to Sasayama Castle ruins , it is a perfect place for sightseeing souvenirs!
The representative products are “ Kuri Ohagi” and “Kuri Kinton”( mashed sweet potatoes with sweetened chestnuts).
Ohagi is a sticky rice cake usually coated with mashed sweet beans , but Kuri Ohagi is wrapped
in mashed Tamba chestnuts paste in stead of sweet beans , similar to Tambasasayama’s another
representative sweet “Kurimochi”. You can buy Kuri Ohagi only at this store in Tambasasayama city.
From mid-September to the end of October, which is the chestnut season, they both are very
popular as sweets that you can enjoy the taste of Tambachest nuts . Therefore , it may be sold out in the early afternoon.
Please drop in as early as possible to make a purchase.
