Heavy traffic expected in Tambasasayama during Aji-Matsuri Month
Black Edamame will be released in early October 2024 in Tambasasayama. Heavy traffic is expected across the city during the three weeks of the Edamame on-sale period.
Please be aware of traffic information so that everyone can purchase edamame smoothly.
*We strongly recommend that visitors arrive in the city before 10:00 am to avoid traffic congestion and to secure a parking space.
[By car] Please take the detour
The road from Tannan-Sasayamaguchi IC to Sasayama Castle area via Midorikan is a single-lane road which results in heavy traffic congestion. A bus also operates on this route, connecting the station to the castle town. We appreciate your cooperation in using the detour.
*Detour signs will be placed in several locations between the Tannan-Sasayamaguchi IC exit and the Sasayama Castle town area.

Parking lot information
The parking lots near Sasayama Castle are expected to be crowded. Please consider using the free parking lots a little further away.
Free loop bus “meGREEN”
Free loop bus “meGREEN” is available on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays. The quiet electric bus operates as a loop service, taking you around several parking areas and sightseeing spots in the city, allowing you to leisurely enjoy the picturesque views of the castle town.
*meGREEN will not operate on October 20 due to the Hoko parade for the Kasuga Shrine Autumn Festival.

Traffic restrictions
October 5th(Sat), 6th(Sun), 12th(Sat), 13th(Sun), 14th(Mon), 19th(Sat)*, 20th(Sun)*
All vehicles are prohibited in Sections A and B (pedestrian-only areas) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
*Traffic restrictions will be in place outside of the above hours on the 19th (Sat) and 20th (Sun) due to the Kasuga Shrine Autumn Festival.
October 26th(Sat), 27th(Sun)
All vehicles are prohibited in Section B (pedestrian-only area) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
[Public transportation] Bus detour operation
Due to the traffic restriction, “Nikaimachi”, “Kasuga-Jinjya Mae”, “Gofukumachi”, “Jouhokuguchi” bus stops are not in operation. Please get off at “Sasayama Honmachi” or “Shimotatsumachi.” It is also recommended to get off at “Nishimachi” and take the free loop bus “meGREEN” from “Nishishinmachi.”
