Souvenir shop Morimoto
Kawaramachi store
Kawaramachi street is designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings of Japan and is lined with Tsumairi style merchant houses.
You can see the Souvenir shop Morimoto at the entrance to Kawaramachi.
It’s the oldest souvenir shop in Tambasasayama, and the first to sell roasted chestnuts and black soybean tea.
The shop has a wide selection of sweets and tsukudani (preservable food boiled down with soy sauce)!
The chestnut soft-serve ice cream is also recommended.
The popular black soybean bread “Konishi’s bread” is also available in limited quantities.
Nikaimachi store
Morimoto has its own chestnut farm so that our customers can enjoy the roasted chestnuts safely.
Roasted chestnuts (1,000 yen), made from chestnuts grown with reduced pesticides and slowly laid down until sweet, are highly recommended as a typical street food of Tambasasayama.
Fresh chestnuts are only available at the store during the season (about one month from mid-September).
