Sugiyama pottery studio is located in a small valley at the southern foot of Mt. Mitake, a part of the Taki mountain range. Nowadays, automation is taking place everywhere in the world, however, handmade products that craftsmen create one by one, are not only comfortable to use but also never out of date in design. In April 2009, Sugiyama Pottery studio opened a directly managed shop on its premises.
“We hope people remember the peace of mind in their busy days, such as enjoying the sound of the rain…” That is Sugiyama Pottery studio’s proposal to your lifestyle.

Factory

Each staff member is both a designer and a craftsman. They keep the motto of “vessels are hospitality itself” in their mind. Then, “What is hospitality?” We delve deeper into research and trial production repeatedly, and finally each single Sugiyama pottery studio’s work is completed.
Our products are shipped out everyday not only to Keihanshin (Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe area) , but also all over Japan. We hope you will enjoy using them for a long time.
