Tambasasayama Farmers’ Market Stamp Rally

Tambasasayama City is a treasure trove of delicious vegetables!

Tambasasayama City in Hyogo Prefecture is a town where delicious agricultural products are cultivated thanks to the rich soil, significant temperature differences between day and night, and the morning fog. From ancient times, through its abundant food production the city has been a treasure trove that has supported the Shognate and the old capital of Kyoto through it’s food offerings.

This nature rich city is well known for black soybeans (black edamame), Tamba chestnuts, Tambasasayama yams, Koshihikari rice, Tamba tea, Tajima beef (Kobe beef). You can also enjoy the delicious flavors of wild vegetables, green peas, bamboo shoots, burdocks, taros, watermelons, strawberries and grapes throughout the seasons.

The Best Produce is Found at farmers’ markets

Tambasasayama does not have “roadside stations” like other cities. Buying flavorful local vegetables at farmer’s markets, grocery stores or greengrocers is a customary way for locals.
