Fun time with Children / Tambasasayama Playground Guide

What kind of image do you have of Tambasasayama? You might think it as a tourist destination for
adults because you hear “delicious food” and “traditional townscape and culture”.
However, Tambasasayama is getting popular as a playground for children, too. Here are some
recommended spots in nostalgic countryside that are different from the crowded theme parks or
amusement parks!

Play with nature! : Sasayama no Mori Park

Sasayama no Mori Park

 Hours: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

 Closed: Monday

This is a wide-area park where you can feel close to nature in each season. Please enjoy a relaxing forest bathing, play on the handmade playground equipments, and have fun with your pets! You can also bring your lunchbox, and find various kinds of flowers, birds and bugs! There are many hands-on programs every month such as fishing, plant dyeing, woodworking experience, and more. Wow! Moving Dinosaurs! : Tamba Namikimichi Central Park

Hyogo Prefectural Namikimichi Central Park
Address: 90 Nishikosa, Ta
mbasasayama City, Hyogo
 Hours: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

 

You can enjoy a whole day playing with the dinosaur playground equipment and a giant roller slide, as well as visiting a thatched house facility or relaxing at the grass field. The park is within a walking distance from JR Tamba Oyama station, which is very convenient. Also there is a cycle station, making it a gateway for cycling tourism.

A place where adults can return to childhood! Sasayama Children’s Museum

Sasayama Children’s Museum

 Address: 572 Kodanaka, Tambasasayama City, Hyogo
 Hours: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
 Closed: Monday to Friday, except public holiday(March to December)
 Remark: Open on Wednesday to Sunday during school summer vacation
(Mid Jul. to 31/Aug.).
Closed in January and Februray.

 

It is a place for everyone, from small children to adults. An old-fashioned wooden school building, former Taki Junior High School, and the surrounding nature are good match.There are also a shop and a restaurant in the facility, so you can spend all day long at here. Variety of exciting workshops and activities are available every day, such as handicrafts, puppet shows, and muddy tug-of-war in the rice field!

There are many facilities such as obstacle course, swimming pool, camping ground, and resort hotels
on the vast land, making the most of the surrounding nature. You can enjoy those facilities to the full on
a day trip or overnight. Playing in the calm river, the restaurant and the large public bath are also

Japan’s largest course! Forest Adventure Tambasasayama

Forest Adventure Tambasasayama

 Address: 295-3 Hatayama, Hiuchwan, Tambasasayama City, Hyogo

If you are in the upper grades of elementary school or older, Forest Adventure, a forest theme park, is the best choice! The park does not use public water supply facilities, electricity, gas, or concrete, minimizes the environmental impact, and is SDGs friendly. By playing in this park, you are protecting the forest because there is a system to make donations for forest conservation. (Restroom available.)
It is a place where you can have fun while contributing to the earth.

It’s an amusement park in the great nature! Children will be happy to play on wooden equipments, pets are allowed in the playground. Catching Japanese freshwater crabs in the calm river is also big fan… so many things to do! Please enjoy as you like! At the camping ground, you can bring your own food and enjoy a day time BBQ! The restaurant is also reasonably priced and has good reviews about them serving good food.
